Ian John Strange

Ian John Strange (1934–2018), aka the Bird Man, was a British artist, writer, ornithologist and conservationist. From 1959 he was based in the Falkland Islands where he was tasked with establishing a mink fur farm. He published several books on the Islands. His first stamp designs, Kelp & Seaweed, appeared in 1979. He subsequently produced over 40 sets often featuring birds or marine life.
