KENYA UGANDA TANGANYIKA 1960 (VARIETY) 30C THOMSON'S GAZELLE BLOCK
30c Thomson's Gazelle block x 30 trimmed along left side in a pale vermilion shade. Very scarce multiple from a faulty printing distributed in parts of Kenya. Possibly the largest remaining block extant. Fresh and fine. Mint never hinged. SG188var; SC125var
Note: North Kinangop and Naivasha in Kenya were supplied (the week of 1 September 1962) from Nakuru with a pale printing of the 30c in two blocks of 2 x 10 and one of 6 x 10 to form the equivalent of a sheet of 100 (10 x 10). The left edge of each block was trimmed suggesting there was some fault with the sheets from which the stamps originally came from. Used examples cancelled Uganda in the pale shade have also been confirmed
