2½d Wilding definitive on plain, unaddressed cover with trial usage of adopted Coronation slogan, as prepared by the Engineering Department at GPO Headquarters, featuring BIRMINGHAM circular cancel dated 20 SEP 1953. Very scarce survivor.
Note: the adopted ‘Long Live the Queen’ slogan postmark was officially in use between 3 and 30 June 1953 (although there is a late Alloa usage of 26 August reported) indicating the trial cancel date is arbitrary
