1c Great Curassow singles x 2 with offset of 'SELF GOVERNMENT 1964' overprint on gummed side. One example with strong primary offset (from single sheet of 50 stamps affected). The other with pale secondary offset. Fresh and fine. Mint never hinged. Offered with normal. SG217var; SC182var
Note: a primary offset occurs on the first sheet to be printed (or overprinted in this case) after a sheet fails to advance causing the bed of the press to receive the inked impression. The affected sheet receives the normal overprint on the top side and the reversed overprint on the gummed side from the ink on the bed of the press. A number of other sheets are usually affected to a lesser degree by a 'secondary offset' as the ink on the bed of the press is used up
