SELANGOR 1977 (VARIETY) 5C PAPHIOPEDILUM NIVEUM BLOCK MISSING BLACK
5c Paphiopedilum Niveum block, printed photogravure by Harrison, missing black (portrait, state name and arms) from the lower left stamp and partially missing from the two above due to foreign matter getting between the plate and paper during the second stage of printing. An embossed outline of the offending matter remains visible on the gummed side. Very scarce uncatalogued error. Fresh and fine. Mint never hinged. SG154var; SC130bvar; ISC160var
Note: the stamps were printed in two stages. The first stage using black, cyan, magenta and yellow for the main design, inscriptions and value. The second stage using a separate black for the portrait, state name and territory arms
