Unique handpainted watercolour by renown local artist John Hobson Nicholson (1911–1988) on thick card measuring 120 x 76 mm of King Magnus Haraldson of Man for Historical Anniversaries commemorative set. Design features 3p value and barge angled away from the river bank. Eventually issued 18 September 1974 with 4½p value and boat positioned parallel to the bank. Offered with first day cover of signed by the artist.
